After Supper Family Walk
So our usual tradition, when-the-weather-cooperates, is to go for an after-supper family walk. It usually involves bikes, scooters, strollers and feet ... ending up at a park or just meandering through our little neighborhood.
But tonight the thunderstorms stopped, it got a little warmish, and so Jack suggested we head to the Forest Preserve - the kids on bikes and he and I on roller blades.
So that's what we did.
What fun. I'll admit I was nervous most of the time because hardcore bikers come flying along the path at mach 10 and little Jackson has never been to driving school so I kept thinking he would turn around to look at the puppy dogs and plow right smack dab into the front spokes of a racing bike. But he didn't. He did amazingly well staying on his side of the yellow line. Usually.
And Maddie; of course she did a great job. Just flying along, enjoying nature. And Jack didn't wipe out. Close once or twice when he turned around to talk and got off into the rocks. But I have to say, he did brilliant recoveries both times. Well done, hun.
That's a long way to go for little legs.
Good job, family. You made your Canadian mama proud.
