Tuesday Nothingness

I've been in project mode. Like LOTS of projects. Can't wait to do some 'reveals' in the coming week or two. For now, here's some teasing.

Dining room chairs BEFORE: Bookshelf for Maddie's room BEFORE: Maddie's desk for her bedroom BEFORE: Scrapbook for Aunt Shirley's 70th birthday {Finished product}: Cool antique headboard from garage sale {for guest bedroom}: Alysa sewing AND learning to thread the bobbin all by herself, with the aid of Youtube. I just can't speak highly enough about that world.wide.web. Rather ingenious it is.

And in other news:
We went to the lake this past weekend. Jack had his first ski of the season.
We, the smart ones in the boat, were fully clothed AND wrapped in blankets. The 3 Jacks sure do love the speed boat and Jackson loves driving. My good camera broke so it's in Canon's fix-it headquarters. So sad. Hopefully, HOPEFULLY will have it back by Memorial Day weekend. You ask what I'm doing tomorrow.

Tomorrow, my friends, is Deep Clean Wednesday. Dust be gone. Cobwebs be gone. Fingerprints and grime all over every window in the house, be gone. I'm actually moving furniture to clean. If I had a big field for a back yard I most definitely would hang the laundry out to dry, blowing in the wind with wildflowers in the background. No facebook tomorrow. Wood floors be sparkly. I might even get something roaring in the crock pot by 8am. And I just know that Jackson is going to cooperate and play nicely in his room whilst I do my magic. I just KNOW IT!

I have a long list of things that have been put off for far too many, ummm, years. So tomorrow begins the new routine. Somehow I will maintain after I do this deep clean. That's always my struggle. I really am a low-maintenance kinda gal. If it's not easy to maintain it just is so NOT a priority for me. But that's not good and I'm trying to change that about myself. Somehow I will stay on top of cleaning. It's very safe to say that I don't enjoy cleaning. I have friends, whom shall remain nameless but know who they are! that love cleaning. Why I ask? I think they were dropped on their heads as small children. That just isn't normal.

But a new leaf I am turning over, effective immediately. My new normal will include cleaning. Please don't call me and tempt me asking me to go outside and play. It might be more than I can handle and I might have to reschedule my deep clean Wednesday for sometime mid-October.

To quote the Little Engine ..."I think I can, I think I can, I think I can."

And my reward, you ask ... satisfaction for crossing off things on my master cleaning list. I am a list gal. And then time later this week to work on those fun creative and organizing projects that I really want to finish ... truth be told, that's the real motivation behind this. I've told myself no more fun until the work gets done.

Wish me luck. Drop off a McDonald's Diet Coke would ya? And if you could bring some cleaning supplies and your rubber gloves and stay for oh, 3 hours, that would show me how good a friend you really are!
