The Popcorn Shoppe
My first visit to this delightful little store was in college, thanks to Alice and her family. Not only did they introduce me to all sorts of finery like the Art Museum and classic literature, they also introduced me to junk. As in junk candy galore. And yummy popcorn. {Like I didn't know either of those before them, but you know, I guess I can look to blame someone, right?}
Surprisingly, this is the kids' first visit to the Popcorn Shoppe on the main drag in Wheaton. It's about the size of a long walk-in closet. Interior, exposed brick. And it's loaded with candy, and more importantly to me, the popcorn. Delisch!
While I was getting my act together (as in the camera), they were VERY curious as to what was in the candy store. They could hardly believe that they were going to get a little bag that they could fill with 5 cent candy. {When we pulled up in front, Aunt Denise told them what the surprise was and their eyes were as big as saucers. Seriously. A DREAM for a kid. A store that ONLY sells candy. No way.}
Oh, and for the record I think the store is actually called the Popcorn Store, but I just think it ought to be named the Popcorn Shoppe, so that's what I call it. I also affectionately call it the "red door candy store." Cuz I like little jingles and all.
The kids always love being with Aunt Denise. Always something new and fun and yummy.
All in all, a fun little adventure. Life through the eyes of a kid.

Very refreshing.
{And I'm so thankful that candy like this does not tempt me AT ALL. Seriously. Yuck. The smell of popcorn about drove me crazy but I didn't give in to that either. So that was good.}
