Days 19 and 20. Journey to Freedom.

Keeping it real.
Today was hard just from an
"I'm SO tired of being in the kitchen
and cleaning dishes
and going grocery shopping
and cutting up veggies
and
BEING.IN.THE.KITCHEN
sort of feeling."

Today, OUT OF NOWHERE, I felt like I just don't want to do this any more.
I want to quit.
Who gives a rip?
This is too much work.
Being weary all the time isn't so bad after all so maybe I'll just go back to eating junk.

And then I remembered it's
'that time of the month.'
 Okay.
So THAT explains some of the
'out-of-the-blue' emotions that bowled right over me
at approximately 11:37a.m. this morning.
WOWZERS.
Sometimes I hate being a girl.

And so, I got lunch made and done and cleaned up after
and then rested for a bit.
And now I'm fine.
And I'm not going to give up.
And I'm not going to quit.
And it IS worth all the work.
And being weary all the time because I ate junk is a LOUSY way to live.

Amazing how a little rest and perspective helps.

In the meantime,
I just used the brown rice pilaf from earlier this week and
added fresh cut-up cilantro and lime and a little guacamole
and voila, lunch today tasted great.
I cooked a chicken breast and added that in and I felt quite lovely after
I was done. Not too full but just the right amount of full.
And I made the homemade nacho chips again.
HELLO DELICIOUS.

AND, when I was at the grocery store this morning,
I picked myself up this for 4 bucks
( best 4 bucks I spent EVER on a miserably cold winter day )

AND
this
( for another 4 bucks. Again, worth it for my sanity)
and these, my friends, makes me oh-so-happy.
The hyacinth is SO fragrant.

Yesterday I made a chicken burger with caramelized onions on top,
on a bed of lettuce.
I'm finding that if you put anything on a 'bed of lettuce' it sounds
OH.SO.ROMANTIC (roll your 'r' please)
and FANCY
and like you know what you're doing in the kitchen.
I'm a fake though, I really don't know what I'm doing in the kitchen.
Don't fall for my shenanigans.

 And also made a quinoa
(keen-waaa is how you pronounce that lovely word for those of you asking)
with roasted pine nuts.
Pretty tasty but a wee bit bland.
Would probably throw some currants in there next time to spruce it up a bit.

And so, can you believe 20 days are done?

We do this plan through this coming Wednesday night and
then we're done with the detox portion.
Not done with Clean Eating -- just beginning actually!
We technically started the cleanse on Thursday, Day 4 and we did
Days 1, 2, and 3 as a transition into the full on detox.
Days 1, 2, and 3 were 1 liquid meal and two cleanse meals and then
on Day 4 we switched over to two liquid meals and one solid.

So there you have.
Days 19 and 20 are a wrap.
Except for tonight's smoothie of choice.
Which is going to be
mango and raspberry and hemp seed and flax seed and spinach deliciousness.
BRING IT ON.
