A Perfect Gift for Christmas | Chicago family photographer | Water Street Dreams
Imagine my delight
when this mom reached out and said
she was asking for a Water Street Dreams photo session
for Christmas.
Smartest lady on the planet if you ask me!
Smartest lady on the planet if you ask me!
and that makes this photographer
one happy gal.
one happy gal.
Meet Caitlyn, Dan and their girls.
We squeezed in their session
just a couple days shy of Thanksgiving,
which is always hit-or-miss on weather.
It was certainly chilly but I have to say,
there's a remarkable difference between mid-high 30s
and low-mid 30s.
so it was really fun for me to see their love in action.
We wandered.
Someone had a birthday Thanksgiving week!
Little sister runs this rodeo.
Seriously, you might be looking at a future president.
I called it here first.
The gal has spunk and energy bar none.
I'm surprised she's never been lost at the mall
because you turn your head and
she's a quarter mile down the path.
Big sisters to the rescue:
contain the little one!
We skipped along,
partly to keep warm,
and partly to explore.
We looked for fish.
And did I mention we ran.
And by we, I mean she.
Snuggling abounded.
We have to keep warm, you know.
Lots of snuggling.
Dan is outnumbered by his girls
but they all 100% adore him.
Another amazing Chicago Police Officer.
Thank you, Dan, for keeping us safe!
I'm adding you to the growing list of police officers
that I try to remember to pray for often.
You're a good man, I can tell.
I'm now going to cue the music
"Sisters" from the old movie White Christmas
because,
a) it's almost December and we all need to re-watch the movie
and
b) when you see these identical twins,
you just HAVE to break out in song.
The words just spill out
and secretly we wish we were all twins.
Don't we?
I know I do.
Guess which one likes to touch and hug and snuggle
and which one doesn't?
The first time I asked them to
'snuggle in and give a big hug'
the apprehension was visible on the one twin's face
and the delight shone through on the other's.
Reminded me yet again
that we all come out of the womb so beautifully different,
even identical twins!
God is really cool like that to design us all so uniquely!
When at all possible
we throw leaves at fall sessions.
Why wouldn't we?
Wanna happy image?
Insert leaf throwing.
These are the type of images
that mom and dad will look back on
and say,
"Wow, do you remember when they were that little?"
"Remember when she crinkled up her nose in mischief?"

I know Caitlyn and Dan and their girls through our church
but don't really know them that well,so it was really fun for me to see their love in action.

Caitlyn,
it made my heart so happy for you to reach out and schedule a session this fall.
I'm thankful for your family and all my other clients from 2017.
That's a wrap on the 2017 sessions, folks.
It has been an amazing year of photography,
full of former and new clients.
My heart sings when I get to spend time with a family,
showcasing their love and personalities.
It just never gets old.
If you've seen images throughout this year and think,
"Boy howdy, I'd love to do a session with my family,"
I'd be honored to get you on my schedule
for 2018.
Photo sessions make GREAT Christmas and birthday gifts
and I have gift certificates ready to send out!
If you book a 2018 April or May session before December 31st,
I'm offering a significant discount.
Message me for details.
Friends around the country,
if you can wrangle up a few families in your city
to schedule a session while I'm there,
I'll do yours for free!
I want to have a good visit with you
AND
I want to capture you and your friends on film!
Reach out and let's figure out a way to make this happen.
As a small business owner,
I don't take your business for granted.
