Amazing Quilt

So I have this friend, Dawn, who quilts. You have to go check out her blog here. Talk about a fun gal. We go camping up in Door County, Wisconsin every year with she and her husband Jan. We also go to church together. They're just real, down to earth, love to laugh, up for any sort of adventure, willing to help whomever, sort of people.
We love them. And they are both super creative. Jan does anything with wood. I just saw the door to his work room. Unbelievable. {Dawn, you need to post a picture of that on your blog.} Amazing. And then Dawn quilts and knits and does stitchery. And I'm sure a million other hidden talents that I don't know about yet.

Um, hello GORGEOUS couple. My goodness.

So, until tonight, when picking up Jackson at her house {she watched him all afternoon so I could go to Alice's mother's "Celebration of Life"} ... I had NO IDEA how amazingly talented Dawn is. I mean, I knew she was good - really good - but oh mercy, that gal has TALENT with a capital TALENT. And I'm so NOT exaggerating. You should see the quilts she's made. And the ones she has in progress in her craft room, which I love!

She showed me a few and next time I go over I'd love to see more. But my personal favorites are her 3-dimensional vintage flower quilt {Sorry, Dawn, I can't remember the technical name you called it.} Just beautiful. It has a worn look to it, with what really looks to be an actual big flower in each square. {I'm probably not using the proper quilting terms but you know what I mean. Or at least I hope you do.}

And then, the Compass Rose that she just finished for her husband, Jan. Intricate. Amazing colors {she traveled to Kentucky to get the material, that's how hard core she is! I love that bit of trivia. Girl after my own heart.} The work that quilt took - months of work. It has triangle pieces in it; LOTS of pieces in each section - like 74 or something ridiculous like that. WOW. {Not sure why these are so small. Bummer.}

So this is where YOU come in. Dawn has entered her "Compass Rose" quilt in a contest and I think SHE SO DESERVES TO WIN. Like, hands down. Best one in the contest by a big.long.country.mile.

I just voted and I'd love for you to vote for her quilt, too. It is SUPER easy. You don't have to sign up to receive emails, you don't have to give away your birthright or your left arm. You just click this link ....
here ... and scroll down until you see the spot where you click "Compass Rose" and then press VOTE. It's THAT easy. And quick. It will take all of about 15 seconds. And then tell everyone you know to vote. Let's help her win. She deserves it. She's amazing.

So again, just click on this link right
here ... and then scroll down and click in the "Compass Rose" box and then press vote. And voila. You're done. {And you can only vote once from each computer.}

Thanks for helping her out! I'm so blown away by her amazing talents. Seriously!

Oh, and the contest runs until Sunday so go right on over, right this second. Don't procrastinate. Just do it ... right here. {See how easy I'm making this for you. I aim to please.}

Love you Dawn and thanks again for watching Jackson all day. He prayed for you tonight and said, "Thank you God for Miss Dawn and she watched me today and we do fun things."
