An Outdoors Kind of Day

In my book, some days I just need to be outdoors. Seems to lift my spirits. Seems to calm me down. Seems to sing to that chord deep inside.

It's been a long, long time since I've been as weary as I've been the last couple of weeks. I'm just worn out. Weary on a lot of different fronts.

So Tuesday, after several little mini naps, and a walk around the block, I packed a snack, scooped Jackson into the car and headed north to the Botanic Gardens.

I needed to see God's hand in the details.
I needed to see His un.believe.able creativity. I mean, would you look at this flower. NO WAY. I needed to feel the sun on my face and I needed to just let Jackson explore and run. I needed him to be free so that I could be free. I'm always, always, ALWAYS a better mommy when I'm out in nature.
So it was a good thing.
I was still weary throughout the rest of the week, but now, as I'm sitting at the Lake I'm finally feeling a bit rested. Quite rested really. The weather has been absolutely perfect. What a joy to be able to escape to a lake home. We're certainly spoiled.
